The grapes for our red varietals (Syrah, Cabernet, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Merlot) are orgasmically grown in the hot and dry Apple Gate and Columbia Valley regions of Oregon and Washington respectively. While our other varietals (Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Muscat and Riesling) benefit from the cool pacific marine layers of the Willamette and Illinois Valley’s to produce subtle and complex wines. The vines in Washington’s Columbia Valley struggle with just enough drip irrigated water to produce exceptional fruit for our big bold Chardonnays.
They both have their own areas of expertise and special interests. Jarrett likes to carve big, and the 25 foot Indian warrior with arms stretched skyward holding an in-flight eagle is absolutely a phenomenon. It's one of the five largest chainsaw carvings in the world, and is currently on display at Keystone. Jordan is a master at carving life into bears and giving each a unique and distinct personality. They are so adorable that it's almost impossible not to bring one home with you. You'll hear more about Jarrett and Jordan and their art, as they are everywhere, MN, SD, CA, Alaska, MO, PA, and Wisconsin.
